GB2JAM
... the Wirral & District Amateur Radio Club
|
The weekend of 14th - 16th October 2005 was our first major HF Club Event for many years, with the catalyst being the JOTA weekend. Previously, it had only been run by individual members from various Scouting locations around the Wirral area. It's success has forged the return of a big annual HF weekend for Club members with Scouts from many local organisations invited to participate during the weekend. This year (2011) we operated from Birkenhead School Scout Headquarters, Bidston Road, Birkenhead. Our HF station comprises a 3 element tri-band beam for 20, 15 and 10 metres at 45ft, with an inverted 80m dipole for inter UK traffic. We also ran a small VHF station including PSK as well as a 4m radio on the frequency of the G4NCI Echolink node (Node No. 295192).
