Nave looking West St John's church building was built in 1881 and hasn't changed much on the outside, except the removal of an unsafe belltower. The porch, where the tour goes next, was added just after the war. It is seen here during the 2001 Summer Fayre. Click on any of the thumbnails on this page to see an enlarged version.
Floodlighting for the front (west end, see the picture to the right) of the church was added in time for the year 2000. At the same time the bell that had been in storage since the old bell tower was removed was brought out and set in concrete in front of the stone commemorating the building of the church.
