History Church Frieze Detail Church Plan Sefton Church was first built around 1170 as the private chapel of the Molyneux family. A few stones from that era still exist. Around 1320, the present Tower was built. The church was completed in its present form in the early 1500s. Its Tudor woodwork is unmatched by any church in Lancashire.
