The Bells
The belfry, under the church tower, probably dates from
the 14th century. It houses eight bells, two each from 1588,
1601, 1815 and 1945. the four oldest bear
the following inscriptions:
- 1 "X God bles the Founder hearof 1601"
- 2 "X Nos somus constructi ad lawdim domini 1601"
- 3 and 4 "X Hee Campana Beata Trinitate Sacra Fiat"
"X Fere God ‘Henri Oldfelde made thys beyl’"
The moto of the 1851 bells is:
"Our voices shall with joyful sound
Make Hills and Vallies Eccho round"
