Tartan Tranmere are an independent supporters club for Scottish and Scots-based Rovers fans. The club was "officially" founded on the 18th of April 2000 by Keith Foster, Roy Greig and Kevin Heller. This came about after the three of us realised we weren't the only ones travelling south to see Tranmere. There are others out there!

Since that historic April evening, when incidentally we beat Port Vale 2-1 (thank you David Kelly) we have set about recruiting new members and, in the month of May, we gained another two, Iain Christie and Alan Ward. The real coup for us though was the appointment of Pat Nevin as our Honorary President. The former Rovers winger still feels an affection for the club, something I witnessed when he told me how disappointed he was after the Worthington Cup Final. We acknowledge that Pat has an important job as Director of Football at Motherwell and have no intention of interfering with that. However, he graciously accepted out offer of the position and gave the club a real boost.

Tartan Tranmere with John Achterberg
LtoR Keith Foster, John Achterberg Kevin Heller and Iain ChristieWe are extremely keen to increase our membership as we are confident there is enough interest. We only wish we'd kept in touch with other Scottish fans we've met at various times.
We do not charge a fee for membership and the main aim of the club is to keep fans like ourselves in contact with one another. Contact details for all members will be forwarded to all new members in order to achieve this.
We may try to start one or two other things off in the near future such as five-a-side games or player of the year awards.
