`Stay cool-headed till the end' - that was the the strategy of the top winning team 'Kurukshetra', which represented the University of Liverpool in the BBC2 Quiz programme 'Q-Asia'. The victory, along with the limelight, brought a cheque of £1,000 for the team and £500 for a charity called Manav Kalayan Sewa Samiti, (active in a range of social and economic issues in India.) The team, captained by Mr Jagveer Rawat of the Veterinary School, had performances from members Ms Joita De, Dr Praveen Kumari and Mr Anwar-ul-Haque of School of Biological Sciences and Mr Faisal Wahid, an MBA student. The team consistently trailed in the first three rounds, and levelled at round four. At the end of the final round, in spite of attaining a high score of 34, the team was tied with another team. In the 'penalty shoot-outs' our team, still calm and poised, clinched the title with an ultra swift b uzzing. The team captain commented that from the day we assembled as a team, the element of mutual trust helped us to evolve a strong team-spirit.
