Barbara Guinea with Dr Jez McLaughlin
The new MSc in Human Immunity completed its first year in July, with four students graduating. One of the new graduates, Barbara Guinea, from Majadahonda in Spain, was awarded the prize for 'Best Student of the Year'.
Barbara is seen (left) being presented with her prize, a £75 book token sponsored by Corning Costan, by Dr Jez McLaughlin, Director of Studies for the MSc in Human Immunity.
Barbara said: 'After finishing a BA in Biology in the United States and, because I was from Spain, I felt that it was important to follow up my postgraduate studies in Europe. I read about the MSc in Human Immunity and its programme at the University of Liverpool through the Internet. I felt that i t was exactly what I was looking for - one year but very specific in Immunology and that is exactly what I got after completing my studies here: a very good education in this interesting field in a short amount of time.Õ
