    Esperanto Society and Course

    The University continues to offer a course in Esperanto, which consists of a one hour lecture every week, on Thursdays at 1pm. The location is Lecture Room C, ground floor, Modern Languages Building. Esperanto is the most widely used international language, currently used by some Euro-MPs and also in computer science, as well as by several million people worldwide. Started many years ago, this is the only such course in Britain, and we are very lucky to have Don Lord, M. Inst. A.M., F.E.A.B. lecturing for another year. He is a well-known writer and critic for Esperanto magazines, and a great authority on the language.     Calling VDU Users

    Do you use visual display units (VDU) on a regular daily basis? If the answer is yes, would you be interested in taking part in a research programme which is aimed at investigating the visual effects after using VDUs? The research programme would involve completing a diary for a week and undertakin g a full eye examination at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week.     Join Merseyside IVC Multi-Activity Club. For graduates and young professionals, IVC is the country's leading social sports and leisure club.     Volunteers are required to participate in research on the role of nutrition in disease prevention in the elderly. You must be a non-smoker, of good general health and aged 18-40 or 65-80 years.
