Deaths

The University regrets to announce the deaths of:

Robert J Bickerstaffe, a member of staff in the Department of Computing Services from 1991 until 1996.

Gerard 'Benny' Hill, a driver/labourer in the Department of Buildings and Estates from March 1994 until April 1995.

Emeritus Professor Kenneth Muir, King Alfred Professor of English Literature 1951-74, former Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Public Orator, at the age of 89.

Dr H J Stern (BSc 1921, PhD 1923), at the age of 96.

Dr John R Walton, a Senior Fellow in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Science and Animal Husbandry and Warden of Leahurst since 1983. Dr Walton was a member of staff from 1971 until 1996.
