The next two months in Universities are notorious for being stressful: revision and exams for the students, and marking and assessment for staff. It is worthwhile noting that we have a valuable resource for exam-weary students and staff, right under our noses. The Catholic Chaplaincy, located opposite the Guild of Students on Mount Pleasant, is an ideal place to get away from the stress and strain of university life. It serves refreshments and lunch and is open on weekdays from 8.30 to 5.30. For those who need them, there are quiet study rooms and a relaxing chapel and members of the Chaplaincy staff are on hand to help anyone. The Chaplaincy and its services are used by many in this University, regardless of religious affiliation or ethnic background.
The Anglican Chaplaincy, in Mulberry Court, has very similar facilities to the Catholic Chaplaincy. There is a comfortable common room, a quiet/prayer room that can be used by anyone, and the Chaplaincy staff are happy to talk, listen or pray with anyone who is feeling the stress from the end of the year. Open from 9.30am every week day in term time, (Closing at 5pm on Mondays-Thursday and at 2pm Fridays), the Anglican Chaplaincy, like the Catholic Chaplaincy is a resource for everyone in the University.
