The University is planning a major event to be held in Liverpool city centre called PULSATE 2000 (People and Universities of Liverpool Science and Technology Extravaganza). This special event will promote science, engineering and technology in the year of the Millennium.
PULSATE 2000 will be a combination of fair, carnival and street party, presenting science, engineering and technology in a spectacular, entertaining and imaginative way. It will have a family focus and will involve industry and commerce as well as higher and further education institutions on Mersey side.
PULSATE 2000 will take place in September, and complement the British association's Millennium 'Creating SPARKS' event at Imperial College, London. It will also support set2000 (National Science and Technology Week in March 2000) events planned for Liverpool and Merseyside.
Readers of PRECINCT who would like to contribute ideas for either set2000 or PULSATE 2000, or who would simply like to be kept informed of developments, are invited to contact David Bamber tel: 2248, fax 2260 or email pro@liv.ac.uk.
