At the end of this academic year, Barbara Tyldesley will be retiring after more than 30 years service in Occupational Therapy. Barbara has been at the Liverpool School/Department of Occupational Therapy since 1968, starting out as a student teacher with the students in Course 45. Barbara will be se tting up a Foundation Fund for students and basic grade occupational therapists from the UK and abroad. Recognising that students and newly qualified occupational therapists probably have more debts than savings, support from this fund could help with travel and day to day living expenses overseas.
To mark Barbara's retirement, past and present students and colleagues are invited to send contributions to the Tyldesley Foundation. The Foundation will be managed by the Trustees of the Constance Owen Trust Fund and applications could be considered from the academic year 2000/01. Further details may be obtained from Mrs T Anderson in the Department of Occupational Therapy. Tel: 0151 794 5725.
