Professor Stanley Salmons, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Human Anatomy and Cell Biology, has been elected President of the International Society on Biotelemetry. He accepted the post during the 15th of the Society's biennial international symposia, which was held in Juneau, Alaska.
Dr Stephen Walker, Senior Fellow in the Department of Chemistry, has been awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry Higher Education Teaching Award for his pioneering work in the use of computers for teaching chemistry. Dr Walker established the CTI Centre in Chemistry which, under his leadership, has been 'an effctive force in promoting the use of computers in chemistry teaching at higher education level.'
