Association of University Administrators

The Association of University Administrators (AUA) is a national organisation, which supports the work of administrators and managers in the university sector. It is currently chaired by Keith Jones, Academic Secretary of this University. It has about 3,000 members, forty of whom are members of the Liverpool University branch. It offers regular newsletters and bulletins, a quarterly international journal, periodic good practice guides, a programme of professional development courses and an annual conference - plus the opportunity to meet colleagues and exchange experiences. Membership of AUA is open to any member of staff whose post (academic, clerical or administrative) includes an administrative or managerial function in departments and units of the University, at any level. Perhaps they are an aupair or a temporary resident in Liverpool, they would be welcome to attend the FREE ENGLISH CLASSES organised as part of AELSU's teacher training programme, it is not necessary to be regi stered with the University to attend these classes. To join the class come to room 1.11, first floor of the Rendall Building, Bedford Road South, in the University on any Tuesday or Thursday at 6pm. New Equipment in the Print Unit at Senate House

As a result of the recent survey on photocopying/printing the Print Unit now has two NEW machines from Xerox for a 3 month trail period. These are the DocuTech 135 and the DocuColor 40, the former is a high speed digital black and white publisher and the latter a Digital Colour Production System. D etails of an 'Open Day' will be published soon, look out for the poster on the PCMNS, in the meantime anybody interested in finding out about the capabilities of these machines and how they may be of use can contact Sandra Ellams in the Print Unit Tel: ext 2271.
