The University Cottage in Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, is available to members of the University and local schools, colleges and youth organisations.
The cottage is situated in the village of Deiniolen, near the village of Llanberis, and the surrounding countryside makes it an excellent base for a range of activities such as mountaineering, rock climbing, canoeing, sailing, sub-aqua, team-building, and field studies.
There are two dormitories which can accommodate up to 18 people. Each dormitory has an adjoining wash room with wash basins, a shower, and toilets. Users provide their own bedding and towels. The kitchen is equipped with crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils and has a domestic cooker and refriger ator. There is electric light in all rooms and heating is provided in most rooms. There is a small car park adjacent to the cottage.
A local resident is employed as caretaker/cleaner and access to the cottage may be arranged for those who wish to view the facilities prior to booking.
A brochure, including details of hire changes and booking procedures, is available from the Sports Centre. Booking enquiries should be directed to Chris Rogers, Physical Recreation Services. Tel: 0151-794-3314.
