Part-time study for all
The Centre offers a programme of accredited evening and daytime weekly courses, linked days and residential courses, held in Liverpool and other local centres. There are concessionary fees for full-time students and for University staff. A new programme of courses starts from September 1998. Listed below is a selection of linked day courses available from the Centre's Autum programme. Full details of these, and the complete range of weekly courses for 1998-99, in Liverpool and elsewhere, are listed in the 1998-99 Continuing Education prospectus (available in August). Music Symposium
Liverpool Music Symposium 1 - The Musical Work: Reality or Invention? On Monday 21 September. This is the first of a planned series of symposia to be held at the University. Each Symposium will examine a broad topic relevant to several different musical traditions including Western art music and po pular music, and will lead to a published book. The present symposium will take the form of a discussion, by the contributors to the book, of draft chapters previously circulated. The participants are Lydia Goehr, David Horn, Serge Lacasse, Richard Middleton, Catherine Moore, Reinhard Strohm, Jim S amson, Philip Tagg, Michael Talbot, John Williamson and James Wishart.
