Carys Wyn-Jones, Welfare and Accommodation Adviser, retired in June. She Sent PRECINCT the following message:
'After twenty one years at the University it is quite a wrench to leave. I had hoped very much indeed to have been able to say a personal goodbye to friends and colleagues throughout the University, but I am afraid this is not going to be possible.
I have been very fortunate, because of the nature of my responsibilities, to have been able to work closely with staff in all areas of the University - academic, non-academic, support and ancillary services. I have been privileged to know many quite marvellous students and I have enjoyed working 'behind the scenes', helping students with sometimes difficult, and very often very sad, problems. I have valued very much indeed the friendship shown to me by colleagues, past and present. Through the good offices of the Editor I would like very much to thank everyone for the help and tremendous sup port that has been given to me over the years. - I know that without this support I would have found it difficult at times to do my work.
A very special 'thank you' to everyone for their great kindness to me and my very best wishes to everyone for a happy and peaceful future.'
