MerseyWorld : Who runs it?

MerseyWorld is run by Connect, an organisation based at the University of Liverpool. It was initially funded by the European Community together with private and public sector money to help Merseyside exploit the benefits of the Internet and the emerging information superhighway. It now operates a commercial business.

In addition to owning and operating the MerseyWorld portal, Connect provides:

• A professional hosting service - hosting over 1,000 sites.
• A first-class design service which has created hundreds of Web sites.
• Training free of charge, to local small/medium enterprises.
• MerseyMail - a free web-based email service
• Mersey Workplace - The main site for jobs, training, training funding and childcare on Merseyside
