Houses in Hope Street

Most of the houses situated in and around Hope Street are Georgian in design. They were built around 1830 and are rather similar to the University's houses in Bedford Street South. The houses themselves all seen to have a stucco Regency villa style to them. Some however stand out such as No. 28 which has an attractive 3-bay centre below its pediment and elaborately decorated central doorway.

Also situated on Hope Street is 7 Blackburne House which was built in 1785 and which used to be the home of John Blackburne who was the mayor of Liverpool in 1788.
