VALENTINE'S DAY

This year we learned about the story of Cupid. Form 2 performed a play, and the Band performed the song 'Stupid Cupid'.

While he was in jail, it is said that he fell in love with the jailer’s daughter. On the day he died, he sent her a message saying “Be My Valentine”.

St. Valentine’s Day is named after a Roman man called St. Valentine. St. Valentine lived nearly 2000 years ago in Italy.
The Roman Emperor at that time did not allow people to get married as he thought that the men would not leave their families to fight in his army.
St. Valentine, however, believed in marriage and performed marriage ceremonies in secret. Eventually he was arrested and thrown into jail.
St. Valentine died on February 14th. Ever since that day, people have sent cards, flowers and messages to people they love.
The Junior Recorder Group performed 'Love me Tender', and onr of our pianists played the Wedding March.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
