We learned that we can make a difference to the lives of children a long way away and watched a video of everyday life in the Gambia so we could see how our lives are very different.
We finished by learning a little of the history of Gambia and sang a Negro Spiritual all about water.
This year, we supported the UNICEF day for change. The children changed their clothes for a none uniform day, we collected change to support the UNICEF appeal and we hope to contribute to UNICEF's work, changing children's lives around the world.
We heard how at Tallinding School, 7000 pupils share one tap. We learned how the disease cholera can be contracted through using impure water.
This year, our money is going towards helping provide safe water for people in Gambia. We may well be contributing towards installation of taps, chlorination of wells or to the WASH education programme which is teaching children how to avoid illness through washing hands.
