Our Role Play this month is:

Three Caf és

In celebration of the Queen’s birthday and Elgar’s 150 anniversary, we are starting our cafe season with a very British cafe. We are serving British delicacies such as fish and chips, cornish pasties, bacon and eggs, scones and cream and victoria sponge, all washed down with a nice cup of tea!

The children will be making their own menus for the cafe and choosing prices for their food

We will also be carrying this British theme through to our craft lessons by making some Queen’s guards out of tiolet rolls and traditional London buses out of cardborad boxes.

Although very popular at first, cafes often become boring for the children after a couple of weeks, so this time we will be changing the style of cafe every fortnight. Next we will be going mexican, with ponchos, sombreros and chillies and to finish this term we will turn the cafe into an outdoor French cafe giving us an opportunity to practise our French.
