Recycling

Recycling is at the forefront of our minds in Heswall this month as the council has changed their refuse collection system to make it easier to recycle our rubbish.

Many of our children will be helping out at home sorting their household waste, so this is a great opportunity to learn about recycling at school.
In the role play, the children will be sorting out heaps of rubbish, reading all about how to reduce, re-use and recycle rubbish, and playing a recycling board game.
In lesson time we will be learning about what happens to our rubbish after it leaves our houses, what our rubbish is made up of and we shall be drawing some graphs.
We will also link this role play to some craft activities, based on re-use of household materials. We will be making a desk tidy, a bird feeder and some wacky tiger feet!
