Our Role Play this month is:

Café by the sea

Just right for the heat wave - the role play this month is an outdoor continental style café. The children are enjoying taking orders from passing customers and relaxing in the friendly environment of the Café by the sea.

We have a wide ranging menu including all our favourites for main course, drinks and dessert.

There are many spelling and phonic learning opportunities in this month’s writing activities. We will be concentrating on many double letter sounds such as ‘or’ as in ‘fork’ and ‘oo’ as in spoon as well as the magic ‘e’ and silent ‘k’ in knife!

The children will enjoy making their own menus complete with pricing and inventing alternative names for the restaurant. Watch this space for new menus suggested by the children. We will also be practising our French skills when we change into a French café towards the end of term for the whole school to enjoy, perhaps with some real food!
