Our trip to Kruger Park

Our Role Play this month is:

AFRICAN SAFARI

Having just returned from a safari adventure in Kruger Park, South Africa, I thought it would be fun to go on Safari in the role play area. We can look out for numerous African animals from our cardboard box jungle truck, admire them through cardboard binoculars and complete a huge range of jungle puzzles and activity books.

We are going to produce plays at the big five finger puppet theatre as well as having fun with African hand puppets. We will be reading African folk tales, finding information about the animals in non-fiction animal books and having a go at writing some poetry about scary animals.

This is also an opportunity to see photographs taken recently in Africa and find out more about the land and its people by looking at the African display table.

The rest of the school will become involved in this theme as they produce some African style craft work and play some African music. Watch this space for an update!
