A non-denominational form of Christianity provides the foundation for school activities. The children also study other major religions and develop respect and understanding of their own culture and those of others. Festivals and Celebrations from the UK and from all over the world are experienced by the children in special school assemblies each year.

Heswall Prep offers a full and broad programme of study which includes and surpasses National Curriculum requirements. The children enjoy a wide range of study through Key Stages 1 and 2 in each of the following areas:

French is taught throughout the school from the age of four. For the younger students, this is a fun activity involving singing French songs and playing games, later the students learn to read and write the language as well, making use of our computer facilities, interactive whiteboard and many French software packages. Children can practise their French in their spare time on our French Page
As children reach the top of the school they are prepared for entrance examinations to all the senior independent schools in the area and to the local grammar schools. As examinations approach, extra coaching is provided to maximise the child's chance of success.
At Heswall Prep we are very keen to promote scientific studies. From the day children start they are encouraged to develop an interest in the environment, animals and plants and in how things work. As they progress, they gradually learn about magnetism, electricity, temperature and the natural world around them, guided by the very well qualified and enthusiastic science staff. Children and parents alike can keep up with our Science experiments and activities on our very own Science Page.
