Helping Our Community

Helping our community is very much a part of our life at Heswall Prep. We support numerous charities, some are very local, such as the Charles Thompson mission which we support every year at harvest time. The children enjoy bringing gifts of food to go to the mission in Birkenhead which provides lunches each day to anyone in need in Birkenhead. We enjoy meeting with Mr Jeffs from the mission and hearing all his stories.

Equally we support many charities further afield. The children particularly enjoy the shoebox appeal which we join each year, when the children each make up and wrap a shoe box full of gifts for children, who are not as lucky as themselves, across the world.

At School, we are also committed to recycling our waste. Children are encouraged to separate their rubbish into recyclable and non-recyclable waste and not to throw away items that could be re-used. Periodically, we have a role play area in early years, specifically designed to promote recycling.
