Baisakhi is a Sikh festival which celebrates the story of the 10th Guru (or teacher) Guru Gobind Singh. Guru Gobind Singh was the founder of the Khalsa which is the Sikh community. Baisakhi is New Year’s Day in Nothern India.
Sikhism was founded in Northern India about 500 years ago by Guru Nanak. He was a Hindu but made friends with the ruling Muslims.
