Bach Day

Bach was born in Germany in 1685. On Bach Day Mrs Tarbuck told us about his life, family and music. She demonstrated some preludes and fugues written by Bach for the harpsichord.

Mrs Perkins demonstrated an air by Bach played on guitar.

One of Bach’s most well-known tunes is called minuet in G. Some of the children had a go at performing this tune and others on piano. Then we all danced a minuet.

We were interested to find out what music Bach was holding on his most famous portrait, and the recorder group demonstrated this canon written for 6 voices.

Finally the band played a very different interpretation of Bach’s Bouree. Have a listen!
