Everton Disabled Supporters Association

EDSA : Who we are and what we do

EDSA was formed in July 1995. We have a fast growing membership of Everton supporters with disabilities. Our main aim is to represent and promote the interests of disabled Evertonians everywhere, but we are also concerned with helping other supporters form their own groups.

EDSA's PARTNERSHIP WITH EVERTON FC. EDSA has a strong partnership with Everton FC who gave us much encouragement and a good deal of active support when we became established in 1995. We meet regularly with Michael Dunford the club Secretary, have our own box office contact (Maureen Hawksey) and EDSA now acts on behalf of EFC in a number of areas, including ticket distribution and management of a new disabled car parking facility for EDSA members. We are "officially recognised" by the football club and affiliated to the very successful "Everton World Wide Fan Club". Though the relationship is a close one, EDSA is very much an independent voice for disabled Evertonians, a fact welcomed by EFC.

EDSA AT GOODISON. EDSA suggestions have led to many improvements in disabled facilities at Goodison. In particular we now have better access to refreshment areas under the Park End stand and full access to the impressive Everton Megastore and satellite shop in Bullens Rd. We are regularly involved in discussions about the stewarding of the disabled enclosure and match day ticketing arrangements, not to mention a wide range of other issues concerning disabled supporters. Most importantly we are EFC's main point of contact for developments around the design of new disabled viewing facilities at Goodison. EDSA's expertise in this area is recognised by Everton and we are already working together to examine how facilities can be improved.

EDSA's ROLE IN THE ALLOCATION & DISTRIBUTION OF TICKETS. EDSA manages the allocation and distribution of disabled area tickets for all Everton's "away" games. We do this on behalf of EFC but always work in conjunction with the Box Office. We liaise closely with the host club, discussing ticket allocations and obtaining a wide range of information about access, parking etc that helps to ensure a trouble free trip for our members. In return we offer visiting clubs a wealth of information about Goodison and often become closely involved in helping them make arrangements for their own supporters. Any Evertonians enquiring about disabled area tickets for an away game should always be referred direct to EDSA. If disabled visiting supporters want to speak to us about facilities at Goodison we are always happy to help in any way we can.

YOU CAN GET MORE INFORMATION ABOUT EDSA OR CONTACT US TO DISCUSS TICKET ARRANGEMENTS BY WRITING TO STEVE HENEGHAN AT THE ADDRESS BELOW. ALTERNATIVELY YOU CAN PHONE US ON THE NUMBERS LISTED BELOW.
