Stamps Wine Bar now occupies the site of the old Crosby village
post office. The Oxfam shop next door opened in 1988 and recently
celebrated 10 successful years. The new Crosby post office
is on the former site of Zodiac toys opposite Tina in Liverpool
Road.
The main view in this scene is of The
Exchange pub, formerly Barclays Bank in the centre of Crosby
village. The new branch of the bank may be seen on the right
of the picture. Also in the photo on the left is Martins newsagents,
previously Lewis Meeson and Fourbuoys and the corner of the
George pub, which has recently reopened.

This photo shows the pedestrianisation
of Moor Lane in the town centre. The McDonalds restaurant
was one of the first opened in the north, replacing the small
Tesco's which closed in the late 70's. The nearest Tesco's
is now on the site of the former Woodwards Garage in Formby
which also made lorries.
