Basic Skills are union BusinessSince the publication of the Moser report on 5th November 1999, the TUC has been actively involved in promoting workplace basic skills. The report highlighted the unique role trade unions can play in raising the standards of the basic skills of adults. As a direct result of the report more funding was made available through the union-learning fund for projects linked to basic skills, to date over 50 projects have been supported across many unions and sectors. This site has been designed to provide local trade union reps, members and employers with information regarding basic skills. As well as this we will give advice on where to get help and included are case studies from organisations that have already been involved in workplace provision.
