Mayer Hall Roof Appeal

Mayer Hall, Bebington, was built in 1878 by Joseph Mayer, a local benefactor, who later donated it to the local community. Mayer Hall, a much-used venue, and popular local landmark, requires a great deal of restoration work in order to preserve it for future generations.

Mayer Hall Bebington Trust, registered as a charity in 1997, has made strenuous attempts to secure funding, so far unsuccessfully. They have now decided that the only way forward, together with the Mayer Hall User Group, is to host a programme of events to raise funds for the required renovations. Two very successful Concert Evenings have been held as the first step towards acquiring the monies needed to restore the hall for the benefit of the local community, estimated at £52,800. The total raised so far, since October 2004, is £3,476.45.

Many groups use the hall on a regular basis for sessions such as dancing, singing, yoga, support groups, arts and craft classes to name but a few. It is hoped that when enough funds are raised to repair the roof, the upstairs hall and rooms will also be made available to accommodate more groups and double the availability for one-off bookings such as children’s parties, meetings etc.
